Malala Yousafzai is a Pakistani activist for female education. On July 12,2013 ,Malala Yousafzai’s 16th birthday, she spoke at the UN to call worldwide to access education. The UN dubbed the day as an event “malala day”. Malala was born on 12 july 1997 in mingora,Pakistan.
The resident of her is the United kingdom.She is the youngest lady laureate with nobel peace prize, philadelphia liberty medal, order of the smile, glamorous award for the “girls” hero and many more.
Yousafzai education is Lady Margaret hall,oxford. She is famed for activism for education especially female education. Her advocacy has grown to an international movement, and according to former Pakistani prime minister, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, she has become the “most prominent citizen “ of the country.
Yousafzai’s family came to run a chain of the schools in the region.Considering Muhammad Ali Jinnah (the Pakistani barrister,politician,and the founder of Pakistan. He is the leader of India Muslim league and the first governor general until his death) and Benazir Bhutto (Pakistani politician and prime minister of Pakistan and first head democratic government in muslim majority) as her role models, she was particularly inspired by her father’s thoughts and humanitarian work.
In early 2009, when she was 11-12 she wrote a block under an alias BBC Urdu detailing her life during the Taliban Occupation of Swat. The following summer, journalist Adam b. Ellick made a New York Times documentary about her life as the Pakistani military intervened in the region.
Yousafzai rose in prominence, giving interviews, in print and on television and she was nominated for “international children’s peace prize”.
On 9 October, 2012, while on a bus,in the swat district,Pakistan,after taking an exam, yousafzai and two other girls shot by Taliban gunman in an assassination attempt in retaliation for her activism; the gunman fled the scene.
Yousafzai was hit in the head with a bullet and remained unconscious and in critical condition at the Rawalpindi institute of cardiology, but her condition later improved enough to be transferred to Queen Elizabeth hospital in Birmingham,UK.
According to a January 2013 report, Yousafzai has become the most famous teenager in the world. Weeks after the attempted murder, a group of fifty leading Muslim clerics in Pakistan issued a fatwa against those who tried to kill her.
The Taliban were internationally denounced by governments, human rights organizations and feminist group. Yousafzai indicating plans for a possible second murder attempt,which was justified as religious obligation. This statement resulted in further international condemnation.
At the age of 17,she was the youngest Nobel prize laureate. In 2015,Yousafzai was the subject to the Oscar shortlisted documentary – He Named Me Malala.The 2013, 2014 and 2015 issues of TIME magazine featured her as one of the most influential people globally. In 2017, she was awarded Honorary Canadian citizenship and became the youngest person to address the house of commons of Canada.
Yousafzai was banned from school
On 24 January 2009, yousafzai wrote “”Our annual exams are due after the vacations but this will only be possible if the Taliban allow girls to go to school. We were told to prepare certain chapters for the exam but I do not feel like studying. The school was still closed in February 2009.
Now yousafzai and her brother returned to their hometown where all the streets are barren. When she went to a supermarket all the shops were closed then she wrote this situation in her blog “ their home had been robbed and their television had been stolen”.
Later that night, Taliban announced the piece on their FM Radio studio. Three days later , the Taliban leader declared that there will be a ban for women to be allowed to go to school and take education till the exams held in march.
Yousafzai wrote in her blog that “”played a lot in class and enjoyed ourselves like we used to before”. Only two days later she wrote in her blog that there was a skirmish between the military and Taliban. People are again scared that the peace may not last long. She wrote on her science paper that the Taliban will never be able to start vehicles as they before did once and her blog ended with this.
When there was terrorism and girls were stopped from going to school, she raised up the fear wasn’t that she would be attacked for speaking out. Her fear was that she would live a life in which she would not be able to be independent, to get an education, to be a doctor or a teacher or anything she wanted. That’s why she wants women to get education.
Now On 12 July 2015, her 18th birthday, Yousafzai opened a school in the Bekaa Valley, Lebanon, near the Syrian border, for Syrian refugees. The school, funded by the not-for-profit Malala Fund, offers education and training to girls aged 14 to 18 years.
She became the youngest woman awarded with the Nobel prize. That is the Triumph for her after suffering with a lot of problems. She is famed for the activism of education. After the fact or tough rules of Taliban, she changed her international country and settled in the UK.
Now she is married to Ziauddin and happily lives with his schoolteacher husband along with their two sons with the united kingdom in 2012.
Hence, we all should learn from her to fight for our basic rights. All the ladies have the right for education. If we fight for our rights we will definitely win and get close to our ambition.
